CHALLENGE: As the largest supplier of coffee machines in Germany, WMF is now also conquering the premium class of fully automatic machines and wants to establish itself there in the long term. A launch event is to serve as an anchor for this image expansion. To this end, the right approach with the most efficient allocation of budgets and concept is being sought in order to generate the greatest possible reach among the target groups.

APPROACH: B+D Events designs a high-class celebrity event in which WMF is given top positioning and in which a hand-picked circle of guests around top star and testimonial Diane Kruger organically posts from the event. A sophisticated event PR strategy is to encourage the tabloid press in print and TV to cover the event. The invested budget should be transparently converted into media value and multiplied.

RESULTS: An outstanding evening with attention to detail, sensational staging, individual photo opportunities, concerted interviews with dozens of TV stations and publishers leads to two things: an event of superlatives, but also to comprehensive coverage in the tabloid media. The WMF event is the “talk of the town” for days – the launch of the new fully automatic machine and its positioning in the upmarket segment have been a resounding success.
